The Peruvian Jungle has a large number of tourist attractions, an unparalleled charm. Warm and humid climate, unique sounds, majestic ecology and beautiful natural areas are just some things that make it a tourist spot in Peru.
Magic, fauna and flora together, cool nights and sunny days. The Peruvian jungle is one of the most interesting and beautiful regions that everyone should know.
At a tourist level, Tambopata is rich for the diversity of natural resources it has, among which we can find:
Tambopata National Reserve
It includes the districts of Tambopata and Inambari. This was created as such in 1990 and occupies an area of 15.5 million hectares. The reason for its protection is justified by the fact that the territory includes one of the most complete demonstrations of the subtropical humid forest in the country. Within this reserve it is important not to miss visiting the Colorado Macaw Clay Clay where these birds perform their colping ceremony.
Lake Sandoval
Lake Sandoval has an average area of 3 km. It is marvelous for its ichthyological richness as well as for being the habitat of a considerable variety of birds. At the site there are also different kinds of lizards, where the black lizard stands out.
Tambopata is also an attractive place to visit for the festivities it presents, among which the following stand out:
Anniversary of the creation of the Tambopata National Reserve
Whose central day is September 5. On this day, different guided tours of the reserve are planned, as well as activities such as canoeing within it.
World Folklore Day
Which takes place every August 22. Here impressive folk dance competitions are held where students from different local institutions dance.
Agricultural, agroindustrial and artisanal Fair
It is held in July, in addition to food and craft exhibitions, competitions of typical dishes are held, as well as bullfights and horse races, among others.
Tambopata Cross Festival
Between the last days of April and the first of May. The festival lasts two days in which exhibitions of traditional mountain dances are performed by Andean migrants.
Festival Fiesta de mi Tierra
A common event in the month of September. This intends to call for the participation of native communities so that they can show their customs and traditions through dance competitions, gastronomic exhibitions, ritual ceremonies, among others.
