DAY 1

Arrive in Puerto Maldonado, capital of Madre de Dios, and transfer to the office very important to leave large suitcases in the office and bring what you need for the lodge. Join a 1:45 minutes journey by bus and boat till the lodge. Your first taste of the amazon culinary Will be in the Tambopata River on the boat while you let the city behind to enjoy the amazon jungle landscape.

• ÑAPE LODGE AWAITS: A spacious ecolodge, with a big lobby and the bar in the middle, buffet service in the heart of a private concession owns by the ese eja native community of inferno, the guardians of the rainforest.
• ACCOMODATIONS INCLUDES: A 45 ms square room with a private bathroom an open wall facing the forest.
• YOUR STAY INCLUDES: Three meals daily, teas, coffee, guided excursion and activities, refreshments upon arriving, and transfer all the way into ñape lodge and all the way out to the airport.

CANOPY TOWER

3:30 pm In the afternoon we join to the first hiking leads to the 40-meter scaffolding CANOPY TOWER. A banister staircase running through the middle provides safe access to the platforms above. From atop you obtain spectacular views of the vast expanses of standing forest cut by the Tambopata River winding through the middle. Now and then toucans, parrots or macaws are seen flying against the horizon, or mixed species canopy flocks land in the treetop next to you.

DAY 2

At dawn visualize the parrot clay lick to identify color. Breakfast at 7:30 AM then meeting with the leaders of the infierno community and the palma real community to identify the needs and strengths of both. Master classes on how they work their weavings.

1:00 PM BUFFET LUNCH

3:00 PM Hike to the CEIBA tree (giant tree) and extend the activity by searching for wildlife such as: Monkeys and understory birds, also focus on enjoying the experience in a super primary forest within the Tambopata National Reserve.

7:30 PM BUFFET DINNER

DAY 3

Field work with both communities. We go to the forest to collect fibers, seeds and dye plants.

1:00 PM BUFFET LUNCH

In the afternoon we will go by boat upstream to the lake tres chimbadas which is located within the ecotourism concession of the native community ese eja de infierno.

7:30 PM BUFFET DINNER

DAY 4

Throughout the morning we will workshop with the artisans to realize the designs of the students, work their own baskets with fibers and work on the dyeing of their designs that each one elaborates.

1:00 PM BUFFET LUNCH

After lunch each student should work on their designs, at the end of the day at the lodge there will be a sharing with the artisans so that the students can exhibit their designs and receive feedback from the artisans who belong to both communities. Some of the designs made by the artisans of both communities will also be on sale.

DAY 5

Breakfast: departure to Puerto Maldonado-airport office and farewell.
