ITINERARY

DAY 1

Arrival in Puerto Maldonado transfer to the office, packing and departure to the native community that eja de infierno for 45 minutes by bus. Lunch on board watching the magical Tambopata river and some wildlife (caimans, ronsocos, herons or jaguar), after a 40 minute boat ride arrival at the lodge called ÑAPE. Our lodge manager and his staff will be waiting for us with a regional refreshment as a welcome, then we will settle in our rooms and then we will do our first activity.

3:30 PM Understand the structure of the jungle. Climb the observation tower that measures more than 35 meters and be able to appreciate the biodiversity of the forest that inhabits this part of the Peruvian Amazon, visualize the landscape from above.

Recognition of usable species such as the bombonaje, rubber, chambira, huito, among other species of fibers and plants that produce natural dyes.

7:30 PM BUFFET DINNER

DAY 2

At dawn visualize the parrot clay lick to identify color. Breakfast at 7:30 AM then meeting with the leaders of the infierno community and the palma real community to identify the needs and strengths of both. Master classes on how they work their weavings.

1:00 PM BUFFET LUNCH

3:00 PM Hike to the CEIBA tree (giant tree) and extend the activity by searching for wildlife such as: Monkeys and understory birds, also focus on enjoying the experience in a super primary forest within the Tambopata National Reserve.

7:30 PM BUFFET DINNER

DAY 3

Field work with both communities. We go to the forest to collect fibers, seeds and dye plants.

1:00 PM BUFFET LUNCH

In the afternoon we will go by boat upstream to the lake tres chimbadas which is located within the ecotourism concession of the native community ese eja de infierno.

7:30 PM BUFFET DINNER

DAY 4

Throughout the morning we will workshop with the artisans to realize the designs of the students, work their own baskets with fibers and work on the dyeing of their designs that each one elaborates.

1:00 PM BUFFET LUNCH

After lunch each student should work on their designs, at the end of the day at the lodge there will be a sharing with the artisans so that the students can exhibit their designs and receive feedback from the artisans who belong to both communities. Some of the designs made by the artisans of both communities will also be on sale.

7:30 PM BUFFET DINNER

DAY 5

Breakfast: departure to Puerto Maldonado-airport office and farewell.
